Government has published new cyber security legislation which promises to have a big impact on the technology sector.
The Cyber Security and Resilience Bill, which has been introduced to Parliament and is expected to become law next year, brings a number of groups into the scope of existing cyber security regulations for the first time. These are managed service providers, data centre providers, and critical suppliers to 'operators of essential services' (that currently includes transport, energy, drinking water, health and digital infrastructure providers).
We took part in a Global Counsel webinar outlining the implications of the Bill which you can watch here.
