About the event
(External event, hosted by the team at Quilter Cheviot)
Artificial intelligence (AI) and cyber threats are rapidly reshaping how charities think about risk. From AI-enabled fraud and increasingly sophisticated phishing attacks to data breaches and operational disruption, trustees are facing growing expectations to ensure their organisations are resilient in an increasingly digital environment. Alongside these risks, trustees must also consider their governance responsibilities. This involves balancing oversight, delegation and accountability, while ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place to protect their organisation’s people, data and assets. The potential consequences of getting this wrong can be significant, including financial loss, reputational damage and regulatory scrutiny.
This one-hour panel discussion brings together perspectives from across the charity, cyber security and investment management sectors to explore:
• How AI is changing the nature, scale and complexity of cyber risk
• The role of trustees—what oversight looks like in practice and where accountability sits
• The types of questions trustees should be asking management and third-party providers
• Practical steps boards can take, particularly where resources are limited.
We will also consider AI and cyber risk through an investment lens, including how trustees may wish to think about exposure, risk and opportunity within portfolios.
